RePS2 DESR Install Guide
1. Open up your console and remove the OEM power supply and the AC plug

2. Insert the 3D-printed module where the original AC plug was originally located (insert it diagonally — the bulky part first and then the other end)
3. Plug one end of the DC cable to the small PCB with the DC jack and slide it underneath the 3D-printed socket. The picture here is from a 5xxx metal chassis but the 7xxx is almost identical (the 3D socket and the small PCB are compatible with both revisions).
4. Grab the bolt and nut provided and tighten them up. Use a Phillips screwdriver for the bolt and a pair of pliers to hold the nut.
5. If you wish to keep the original fan please skip this section and go directly to section 9. If you do want to swap the fan, remove the original one and locate its plug on the PSX-DESR motherboard (please, note that the 5xxx revision has the plug hidden underneath a daughterboard — see pic below– which needs to be disassembled for access).
6. Plug the cable provided for the fan instead of the OEM one on the motherboard and route it towards the other side of the board.
7. Now plug the black and red ends of this wiring to the connector named ‘FAN MOBO IN’ (CON2) on the RePS2 DESR PCB. Leave the yellow cable aside. Also, plug the red and black ends of the new fan to the block connector of the RePS2 DESR PCB. The design accepts both 5v and 12v fans (make sure you select the right block connector with the matching voltage of your new fan).
8. Join the yellow wire from the new fan with the yellow wire from the wiring that comes from the DESR motherboard. I recommned soldering and shrink-tubing the connection.
9. Plug the DC cable and press the 4-way connector into the motherboard prongs with your thumb.
10. Tidy the wiring and you should end up with something like this (if you are not swapping the fan, you will only have the DC cable plugged in).
11. Reassemble your console, plug the recommended AC/DC adapter and you should be ready to go.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THIRD-PARTY FANS
The PSX-DESR uses a three-cable fan which sends a feedback signal to the motherboard (through the yellow wire). The console expects this signal for it to know that the fan is spinning and that components on the motherboard will cool appropriately. If this signal is not present, the console will start-up but will go into shutdown mode after a few seconds, since it will assume the fan is not spinning. Therefore, please make sure you buy a third-party fan with a feedback signal (three wires: red, black, yellow).
